Introduction:
The long-term effects and patient's acceptance on multi-drug
therapy on leprosy have been investigated in a comprehensive
way from clinical, bacteriological and social medicine
aspects. The results showed that the study with a great
number of samples and a long-term investigation period
is of great importance to guide the multi-drug therapy
in China. The study on leprosy treatment is mainly on
experimental activities and clinical effects of home made
anti-leprosy drugs such as pefloxacin, ofloxacin and minocycline
against leprosy. This study was first done in China by
the methods of animal model, clinical medicine, bacteriological
and pathological examination. The results showed that
the home made drugs mentioned above can be used for treatment
of leprosy in some cases intolerable to the other routine
anti-leprosy drugs.
