Leprosy
control programme was committed by the Party and
the Government. The ¡°Active Control and Transmission
Containment¡± was identified as the tasks of leprosy
control programme in the National Programme for
Agricultural Development in 1956. The periodic
goal of ¡°Elimination of Leprosy by the End of
21st Century¡± was brought forward by national
government in 1981. ¡°Elimination of Leprosy to
Benefit for All Humankind¡± has become an integrated
part in the construction of socialist spiritual
civilization and development of harmonious society.
