INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE & COOPERATION
| The Center
has sent more than 60 groups consisting of more than
120 person-times of scientific staff to other countries
for professional training and academic exchange, and
received more than 50 delegations of WHO officers
and experts and visitors from more than 30 countries
for study visits and academic exchanges. Through coordination
of multi-sectors including the Center, leprosy control
programme in China has benefited from the supports
of WHO, the Belgium Government and other many non-government
organizations (NGOs) such as the Leprosy Mission International
(TLMI), the Sasakawa Memorial Health Foundation (SMHF),
the Damien Foundation Belgium (DFB), the Netherlands
Leprosy Relief (NLR), and the NGOs in Italy, Korea,
France, Spain, the Hong Kong Special Administrative
Region and Taiwan Province. Based on the international
exchange and cooperation, the best practice, and updated
technology and expertise has been timely introduced
into the country and adapted into the local situation,
resulting in an improvement of the capacity in leprosy
control in China. |
